EcoCamp Coyote August Report

Summer is in full swing and we at EcoCamp Coyote have been busy!

Here are some projects we've been working on this month

The EV Saturn

We found a 1997 saturn on Craigslist which had been converted to electric. The guy was selling it after his brother-in-law went to prison and left it sitting on the street for several years. It was going to be towed the following Monday so we cut a deal for $100 for it!

We'll recycle the batteries for some $ and use the motor and other parts for future projects

WaterMelon Harvest!

Our friend Hana taught us when a watermelon is ready to harvest.

When the little curly thing attched to the stem (center) dries up all the way back, then it is time.
This one is almost ready!

Waste Veggie Oil Processing 

Our evolving system for processing "Waste" Vegetable Oil into fuel.
"Waste" is a construct of the mind.

Rats Are Eating The Food!

The Rats here have been decimating the garden.

Currently killing them with traps, freezing them, then donating their bodies to the Native Animal Rescue in Santa Cruz Cali, where they will be fed to the animals there. The rats usually fed to them are raised in a factory somewhere.
Note: This is not our ideal system for controlling this issue

Tiny House Project

The soon-to-be EV,'ChEVy' moves the soon-to-be tiny house

Ava and Ero living the Dream

Our neighbor was clearing things and sold us this demonstration sun room. We intend to make it into a demonstration tiny house. 

Off Grid Solar System Upgrades 

Got some good progress on evolving the solar system.

Installed a second inverter so we can have 220v for welding and charging EVs

A third charge controller so we can add more PV panels

Rewired and added panels to array #2

Array #1. In total we have 12 panels now

Garden Expansion

The crew has been hard at work digging out the soil, removing rocks, adding gopher wire, and lots of mushroom compost.
Once this is done, we intend not to till the ground
